Kessler Pond Clean Up and Brush Removal (Phase 1)

  • June 26, 2021
  • 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

You are invited to participate in the first phase of a new initiative to clean up and restore North Terrace Lake (it’s the pond in Kessler Park off Chestnut Trafficway underneath the Lexington Ave bridge). Ultimately the initiative’s goal is to have an infrastructure around the pond repaired and/or improved as it’s its in dire need of assistance. This initiative was started and is still being worked on, by a eleven-year-old named Jack. Jack wants to see this pond improved so that future generations can enjoy this fantastic part of Kessler Park!

To start this project off we first need to clean up the trash in the area. We also need to remove the brush on the south side of the pond which has been blocking access for a number of years. This will allow work to be done on these areas and allow for a better inventory of the pond infrastructure on the north shore. This is where we need your help on Saturday, June 26th, 2021. Please come out, anything that you are willing to do is much needed and appreciated! We look forward to seeing you all out here on the 26th of this month.

KCP&R will be providing loppers, trash bags, and trucks to haul away brush and trash.

Please bring gloves, water, and any of your favorite brush removal tools!

Again, thank you for your consideration and contribution to our community!
