Important Note:
After hearing from vocal neighbors and members of the broader Northeast community regarding KCU's proposal to demolish Smith Hall, PHNA has nominated the building to the Kansas City Register of Historic Places, to allow more time for discussion between the neighborhood and KCU about our relationship and the value of historic buildings. To respect our neighbor and avoid creating additional hostilities by hosting an open meeting in KCU's space, our November meeting is moving to Whim Space.
As usual, the focus of the November meeting is on PHNA Board Member elections. Join us to hear from the candidates for the 2026-2028 board and ask them questions about their vision for the neighborhood. If you are interested in running for one of the (6) open Board positions, send an email to president@phkc.org to add your name to the ballot. Anyone interested in running for a Board seat or voting in the election must be an active member of PHNA. Renew your membership online, or in person during the November meeting. Doors will open at 6:45pm, with the meeting beginning at 7pm.
